How to create a search URL?
To create a search URL, follow these steps:
- Visit your preferred search engine or website where you want to perform searches.
- In the search bar of that site, enter the term "TESTSEARCH" and start the search.
- After the search results load, copy the URL from your browser's address bar. It should contain "TESTSEARCH" within it.
- Replace "TESTSEARCH" in the URL with "%s". This is a placeholder -think of it as a wildcard- which will be substituted with your actual search terms when you use the search engine.
- In the extension's settings page, under the "Search engies" section, paste this modified URL into the main table, in the "Search URL" column.
- Make sure you provide a name for this search engine in the "Name" column, so you can easily identify it in the extension's menu.
Now, when you use this in your searches, "%s" will be dynamically replaced with the text you've highlighted and chosen to search for.
